The plum curculio model:
spray coverage required until 308 DD Base 50 F. after biofix (McIntosh petal fall)
Example:
McIntosh petal fall: May 15, 2008 ------------------------------------>
Begin accumulating DD's (Base 50) from May 18:
Once 308 DD's (Base
50 F.) have been reached, as long as you have insecticide coverage
through this date or just after, you have passed the risk of plum curculio
injury.(06/10 in the above example.) No further insecticide sprays
for plum curculio necessary.
