Fruit scab - D. Rosenberger
Submitted by David Rosenberger, Cornell's Hudson Valley Lab, January, 2009.
Rosenberger says "We don't see scab on Honeycrisp fruit very often. The large
size of this lesion suggests that the infection occurred very early in the
season, probably between tight cluster and petal fall. I'm curious to know
if you have any photos of scab on Honeycrisp or if anyone has seen smaller
lesions on fruit. Smaller lesions might indicate that infections occurred after
petal fall, but I can't recall ever seeing any fruit with typical secondary
scab lesions on fruit."
